Short description

Oral hypoglycemic drug. Linagliptin is an inhibitor of the enzyme dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4), which is involved in the inactivation of incretin hormones - type 1 glucagon-like peptide (GLP-1) and glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP). These hormones are rapidly destroyed by the DPP-4 enzyme. Both incretins are involved in maintaining glucose concentrations at the physiological level. Indications for use

Type 2 diabetes mellitus:

as monotherapy in patients with inadequate glycemic control only on the background of diet and exercise, with metformin intolerance or with contraindications to its use due to renal failure;

Contraindications for use

Use during pregnancy and for children
